The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered with a record of 8-6, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 3-11.
Webster City would make a gradual climb throughout the ball game, plating 2 runs in the 1st, followed by a run in the 2nd, 2 more runs in the 3rd, before blowing the lid off the game with 6 runs in the 4th. The Lynx would keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard in the 5th to finish off an 11-0, 5 inning victory.
Sophomore Matt Tesdahl would go 3-for-3 on the night with a double and 2 RBI, while Aiden Hrnicek went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and 2 RBI. Josh Griep pitched all 5 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out 4 batters, while also going 1-for-2 with a single and 2 RBI.
Webster City baseball returns to action on Wednesday night, when they travel to Algona to take on the conference-leading Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at 7:30 PM.
