Roland-Story softball falls at home to Perry, 7-2

The Roland-Story Norsemen softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they welcomed in the Perry Jayettes in Heart of Iowa Conference action at the Hennessey Diamonds in Roland. Roland-Story entered at 4-8, while Perry entered at 4-7.

Perry struck first on Monday night, as they plated a run off a Roland-Story error to take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd. Roland-Story answered in the bottom of the 3rd with 2 runs off RBI from Brookelyn Jondle and Miley Geise to take a 2-1 lead. Perry would respond by putting up 5 runs in a prosperous 4th inning to take a 6-2 lead. The Jayettes added another run in the 5th to go up 7-2, as Perry sealed the deal in the 7th for the 7-2 win.

Miley Geise would be charged with the loss, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and striking out 2 batters. Geise also went 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Brookelyn Jondle also went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Roland-Story softball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host (3A) #15 West Marshall at the Hennessey Diamonds in Roland at 7 PM.
