The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Forest City Indians in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. Eagle Grove entered at 7-2, while Forest City entered at 5-3.
Eagle Grove jumped on the board first with 2 runs in the bottom of the first, including a Nadia Kaiser RBI single to make the score 2-0. Forest City answered in the 3rd, with RBI hits from Emma Anderson and Aubrey Miller to tie the game at 2-2, before Hayden Brown belted a 3-run home run to left to put the Indians ahead 5-2. Forest City would pick up insurance runs in the 6th and 7th as Eagle Grove’s bats could not make up the difference in the 7-2 loss.
Nadia Kaiser went 1-for-3 with the lone RBI on the night for the Eagles, while Myah Edwards went 3-for-3 on the night with 3 base hits. Brooklyn Osborn was charged with the loss, pitching all 7 innings and allowing 7 runs (6 earned) on 7 hits and striking out 7 batters.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Britt to take on West Hancock in Top of Iowa West action at 6 PM.
