The Webster City Lynx softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Bulldogs of Hampton-Dumont-CAL in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered with a record of 8-3, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 2-6.
Webster City would come out of the gates swinging, putting up 2 runs in the top of the first to lead 2-0. The Lynx would then add runs in the 3rd and 4th to go up 4-0, before putting up 6 runs in the 6th to end the game with a 10-0, 6-inning victory.
Senior Delainey Bargfrede was dominant in both phases, pitching all 6 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit and striking out 10 batters, while also going 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and 2 RBI. Ava Peterson went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, while Bonnie Nohrenberg also went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI.
Webster City softball returns to action on Tuesday, when they make the southern trip to Boone to take on the Toreadors at Gary Creasman Field at 7:15 PM.
