The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Friday night, as they made the trip east on Highway 20 to Iowa Falls to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action. Webster City entered at 7-6, while Iowa Falls-Alden entered at 1-8.
Webster City jumped ahead first with a run in the 1st and 2 runs in the 2nd to go ahead 3-0, but IF-A responded with 2 runs of their own in the 2nd to make it 3-2. The Lynx would then score 3 runs in the 4th, a run in the 5th, 5 runs in the 6th and 8 runs in the 7th to cap off a 20-7 victory, the 2nd 20-run game of the season for the Lynx.
Lynx senior Keegan Hisler would have a career day at the plate, going 5-for-6 with 6 RBI off a double and 4 singles. Josh Stansfield would go 1-for-5 with 3 RBI, while Josh Griep went 2-for-5 with 3 RBI and 2 singles. Gavin Griffith pitcked up the win, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 6 batters.
