Details of a one vehicle accident early Sunday morning northwest of Kamrar were released this (Monday) morning by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. The accident happened at around 4:00 a.m. with the office notified at just after 9:30 a.m. Reportedly a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck operated by 27-year-old Gunther D. Range of Kamrar was traveling eastbound on Hamilton County Road D-41 when it was entering the curve to continue southbound. The accident report stated that the driver failed to maintain control of the truck and left the roadway entering the east ditch. The Range pickup then struck the driveway, continued south,rolled over completely and came to rest on its wheels. Reportedly Range drove the truck out of the ditch and parked it roughly a quarter mile from the collision scene. Investigating deputy Rod Hicok spoke with the owner and Range admitted he was driving at the time of the collision. The pickup was totaled as a result of the accident. A 911 sign belonging to Tim Mechaelsen was damaged. Gunther Range was charged by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department with Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Report a Personal Injury Collision.
