The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Indians of Pocahontas Area in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 6-6, while Pocahontas entered at 5-2.
Webster City would bounce back from Wednesday’s loss against Clear Lake quickly, putting up 2 runs in the first, followed by a 6 run 2nd inning, and a 2-run 3rd inning to jump out to a 10-0 lead. Pocahontas was unable to generate any offense in the 4th or 5th as the Lynx came away with the 10-0, 5-inning victory.
Briar Klaver would go 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, while Josh Stansfield was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Alex Staley would pitch all 5 innings in the win, allowing no runs one 3 hits and struck out 8 batters.
