The Webster City Lynx softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 6-1 and ranked #14 in Class 4A, while Clear Lake entered at 5-2.
Much like Monday night, the Lynx struck in the first inning, with Addy Tesdahl scoring on an error to put Webster City up 1-0. The Lynx then added 2 more runs in the frame on a steal of home by Bonnie Nohrenberg on a double steal, followed by Ava Peterson scoring on a 2nd Clear Lake error, as the Lynx led 3-0. Webster City would add another run in the 2nd off a Bonnie Nohrenberg RBI single to lead 4-0, before Addy Tesdahl scored on another Clear Lake error in the 4th to put the Lynx up 5-0. Clear Lake would plate 2 runs in the 6th off RBI from Alaina Hartl and Cheyanne Schroeder to bring the score to 5-2, but that’s all the close Clear Lake would get in the Lynx 5-2 win.
Bonnie Nohrenberg would go 1-for-2 on the night with an RBI, while Ava Peterson went 0-for-3, while still driving in a run. Delainey Bargfrede pitching all 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and struck out 14 batters.
