The Webster City Lynx softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into Humboldt County to take on the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Humboldt High School. Webster City entered at 4-1, while Humboldt entered at 2-3.
Webster City would waste little time in jumping in front, as senior Delainey Bargfrede helped her own cause with her first home run on the year to put Webster City ahead 1-0. After a scoreless 2nd, the Lynx would put up 4 runs in the 3rd inning behind RBI from Ava Peterson, Lydia VanDeer and Jakaela Cherry to take a 5-0 lead. Webster City added another run in the 4th off a Humboldt error, as well as an RBI single from Addy Tesdahl in the 5th to go up 7-0. The Lynx would then blow the game open with a 6-run 6th inning, with RBI doubles from Jakaela Cherry and Ellie Weinschenk and a 2-run home run from Addy Tesdahl to go up 13-0. Delainey Bargfrede would slam the door shut in the bottom of the frame to clinch a 13-0, 6 inning victory.
