The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into Humboldt County to take on the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Humboldt High School. Webster City entered at 5-4, while Humboldt entered at 6-2.
Humboldt would jump on the board 1st with a Riley Sorenson RBI double in the first to go up 1-0. The Wildcats would add 2 more runs in the 2nd, before popping the lid off the game with 6 runs in the 3rd to make it 9-0 after 3 innings. Humboldt would bring a run home in the 5th to cap a 10-0, 5-inning victory.
Webster City would record just 3 hits on the night, courtesy of Briar Klaver, Josh Griep and Aiden Hrnicek, as Gavin Griffith was charged with the loss, pitch 2.2 innings, allowing 9 runs (6 earned) on 9 hits and striking out 2.
Webster City baseball returns to action on Tuesday night, as they make the trip to Des Moines to take on Saydel in non-conference action at 7:30 PM.
