The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. Eagle Grove entered at 5-1, while GHV entered at 1-6.
GHV would jump ahead early with 2 runs in the 1st to lead 2-0, but Eagle Grove responded with 5 runs in the 1st, 5 runs in the 2nd, 2 runs in the 3rd, and 3 runs in the 4th to end the ballgame after 4 innings as Eagle Grove picked up a 15-3 win.
Nadia Kaiser would go 1-for-2 with a single and 2 RBI, while Celeste Figueroa would go 1-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBI. Brooklyn Osborn pitched all 4 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and striking out 3 batters, while also going 2-for-2 with 2 singles and 2 RBI.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Bancroft to take on North Union at 6 PM.
