The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Friday night, as they made the trip into Jasper County to take on the PCM Mustangs at PCM Middle School in Prairie City. The Norsemen entered at 7-4, while PCM entered at 2-5.
Roland-Story would strike first as Derek Acevado scored in the top of the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. PCM would tie it in the 3rd with an Easton Webb RBI single to make it 1-1, before Webb gave the Mustangs the lead off another RBI single in the 5th to make it 2-1. PCM would then add 4 more runs off RBI from Jack Jungling, Jensson Hood and a double steal to lead 6-1. PCM would add 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th to clinch an 8-1 victory.
Brett Schmitz would go 2-for-4 with 2 doubles on the night, while Gavin Jeter went 2-for-2. Cael Faber was charged with the loss, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits and striking out 4.
Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Monday, when they host Nevada at Norsemen Field in Story City.
