The Roland-Story Norsemen softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the Saydel Eagles in Heart of Iowa Conference action at the Hennessey Diamonds in Roland. Roland-Story entered at 1-3, while Saydel entered at 2-1.
Saydel struck first with 3 runs in the top of the 1st to take a 3-0 lead, before Roland-Story picked up a run in the bottom of the 2nd to cut it to 3-1. The score remained at 3-1 until the 5th, when Saydel would add another run to make it 4-1. The lid would come off the game in the 7th as Saydel put 6 runs across to take a 10-1 lead. Roland-Story got a run back in the bottom of the 7th, but that would be all in the 10-2 loss.
Lauren Crabbs and Eva Corcoran would record the 2 RBI on the night for the Norsemen, as Miley Geise pitched 6 innings in relief, while Addy Sabatino was charged with the loss.
Roland-Story softball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to PCM in Heart of Iowa Conference action.
