The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the trip into Winnebago County to take on the Lake Mills Bulldogs in Top of Iowa West Action at the Lake Mills Softball Field. Eagle Grove entered at 3-1, while Lake Mills entered at 1-3.
After a nightmarish evening on Tuesday, the Eagles rebounded quickly on Wednesday with 2 runs each in the 1st and 2nd innings, followed by a run in the 3rd and 2 runs in the 4th to open a 7-0 lead. Lake Mills would answer with 2 runs in the 4th and a run in the 5th to cut it to 7-3, but Eagle Grove would add another run in the 6th to push the lead to it’s eventual final at 8-3.
Addy Jeske, Tarissa Middleton, Celeste Figueroa and Crystal Flores would all tally RBI on the day, while Brooklyn Osborn picked up the win, pitching 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and striking out 3. Mya Morgan pitched the final 2 innings in relief, allowing no runs off 1 hit and striking out 2.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action tonight, as they host Manson-Northwest Webster at Greenwood Park at 7 PM.
