The South Hamilton Hawks baseball team returned to action on Friday night, as they made the trip into Dallas County to take on the Perry Bluejays in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Perry High School. South Hamilton entered at 2-1, while Perry entered at 2-3.
South Hamilton would be first on the board with an Owen Duns RBI Double in the 2nd to put the Hawks up 1-0. However, Perry’s bats came to life with 7 runs in the bottom of the 4th as the Bluejays took a 7-1 lead. The Perry pitching staff would hold serve as they held on for a 7-1 victory.
Perry junior Owen Myers would have a massive game for the Bluejays, pitching the complete game, allowing 1 run off 4 hits and struck out 9, while going 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and 2 doubles. Landon Sogard was charged with the loss, going 3.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 6 hits and struck out 4.
South Hamilton returns to action on Wednesday, when they host (2A) #2 West Marshall in Heart of Iowa Conference action.
