Roland-Story baseball blows out Greene County, 15-1

The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Norsemen Field in Story City. Roland-Story entered with a record of 6-2, while Greene County entered at 0-3.

The Norsemen wasted little time in providing offense against the Rams, putting up 5 runs in the 1st, followed by 4 runs in the 2nd to take a 9-0 lead. Greene County picked up a run in the 3rd, but the Norsemen added 5 runs in the 3rd and a run in the 4th to close out a 15-1, 5 inning victory.

Sophomore Cael Faber picked up the win, pitching all 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits and struck out 2. Jake Knoll had the top day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with 3 base hits and a game-high 4 RBI. Fellow Freshman Wyatt Ramus went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI and 2 singles. Jaron Jacobs had the only RBI of the night for the Rams.

Roland-Story returns to action on Tuesday night, as they host Grand View Christian at Norsemen Field in Story City.
