The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Friday night, as they made the trip across Wright County to take on the Belmond-Klemme Broncos in Top of Iowa West action at Belmond-Klemme High School. Eagle Grove entered at 2-0, while Belmond-Klemme entered at 2-1.
Belmond-Klemme struck first with an Adasyn Lamb RBI triple in the bottom of the 1st to take a 1-0 lead, but Eagle Grove tied things up in the 2nd to make it 1-1. Eagle Grove would then add runs in the 4th, 5th and 2 runs in the 6th to build a 5-1 lead, which would hold as the final.
Senior pitcher Brooklyn Osborn pitched the complete game, allowing 1 run off 6 hits and striking out 6 batters. while going 2-for-2 at the plate with 2 RBI and a double. Sophomore Lily Locker went 2-for-3 with an RBI on the night as well.
Eagle Grove returns to action on Tuesday night, as they host Bishop Garrigan in a battle of unbeatens at Greenwood Park.
