There are other Memorial Day observances across the Hamilton County area on May 27th.
The Williams American Legion Post 633 will hold a program at 9:30 a.m.in the Williams City Park. Legion Commander Derrick Greenfield will welcome everyone with a short prayer. Three Vietnam era Veterans will be receiving Honor Quilts at Monday’s program. The quilts were put together from a group of 8 ladies in the area known as “Sewn From our Heats”. Receiving these quilts will be Craig Classon, Tom Schutt and Rex Utech. Following the Quilt ceremony, Jerry Burton will read a reading entitled ” Toast to the Flag”. The Honor Guard will end with a 21 gun salute and the playing of taps. There will be similar ceremonies at the Williams and St. Mary’s cemteries. All are weclome to attend the services in the Williams area this Monday.
The Memorial Day service at the Homewood Cemetery near Ellsworth will be held Monday.May 27th at 11:00 a.m.with the event open to the public. In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth with the ceremony to be presented by the church’s YouTube page.
