Roland-Story softball holds off Perry on the road, 13-7

The Roland-Story Norsemen softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the trip south into Dallas County to take on the Perry Jayettes in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Perry High School. Roland-Story entered at 0-1, as Perry entered at 1-0.

The Jayettes would get off to the quick start, after a scoreless first, they put up 3 runs in the 2nd to take a 3-0 lead. Roland-Story would get a run back in the 3rd, but Perry would answer with a run of their own in the 3rd and in the 4th to take a 5-1 lead. Roland-Story’s offense began to wake up, with 2 runs in the 5th, followed by a 10-run explosion in the 6th to give the Norsemen a 13-5 lead. Perry put up 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th, but it was far from enough as the Norsemen picked up a 13-7 win.

Roland-Story did not have stats entered on Bound as of Thursday morning, the Norsemen return to action on Friday, when they host Greene County at the Hennessy Diamonds in Roland.
