Eagle Grove softball uses mammoth 1st inning to rout West Hancock, 26-0

The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as the Eagles hosted the West Hancock Eagles in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park. Eagle Grove entered at 1-0, while West Hancock entered a 0-1.

Eagle Grove would put together a 1st inning of mythic proportions, putting up 23 runs in the frame to lead 23-0 after the first inning. The Eagles would put up 3 more runs in the 2nd, before shutting West Hancock down in the 3rd for a the 26-0 rout of their fellow Eagles.

Nadia Kaiser, Myah Edwards and Lily Locke would all finish with 3 RBI on the night, while Maddison Kaiser added 2 RBI of their own. Senior pitcher Brooklyn Osborn would pitch all 3 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits and striking out 9 batters.

Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Belmond-Klemme to take on the Broncos.
