The Roland-Story Norsemen girls golf team returned to action on Friday, when they hosted their Class 2A Regional Tournament at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen were joined by Audubon, Carroll Kuemper, Colo-NESCO, Iowa Falls-Alden, Ogden, Southeast Valley and West Central Valley.
Roland-Story would emerge as the regional champion, winning with a team score of 352 (+64), winning by nearly 75 strokes over 2nd place finisher Carroll Kuemper. Makenna Carlson would be the medalist for the meet, winning with a score of 84 (+12), as younger sister Brinley placed 2nd with a score of 85 (+13). Abby Cook would place 5th with a 91 (+19), as Gabriella Wakefield placed 6th with a 92 (+20) to round out the varsity scoring.
Roland-Story advances to their Class 2A Regional Final, which will be played at Carroll Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday, May 15th.
