Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Eagle Grove girls golf compete in Regional Tournament on Friday

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove Eagles girls golf teams returned to action on Friday, as they competed in their Class 2A Regional Tournament at Clarmond Country Club in rural Wright County. The Cowgirls and Eagles were joined by Emmetsburg, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Manson-Northwest Webster, New Hampton and Pocahontas Area.

CGD would place 6th as a team with a score of 506, as senior Sawyer Morrical led the way with a 106, placing 13th. Jordyce Duncalf placed 35th and shot a 131, as Sophia McLaughlin placed 36th an shot a 132. Claire Kirstein rounded out varsity scoring with a 137 and placing 37th.

Eagle Grove would not compete as a full team, as Kennedy Thacker led the way by shooting a 95 and placing 7th, while Piper Willard placed 16th and shot a 107. Caitlin Christopher would place 31st and shoot a 125.

New Hampton was the team champion with a 362, while Garner-Hayfield-Ventura was 2nd with a 364.
