The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf teams returned to action on Monday morning, as they made the trip down to Boone to compete in the North Central Conference Tournament at Cedar Pointe Golf Course. The Lynx and Cowgirls were joined by NCC members Algona, Clear Lake, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden and St. Edmond.
Webster City would finish 5th with a team score of 448 (+160), as their top scorer would be sophomore Kenley Koop, who placed 16th and shot a 110 (+38), as teammate Claryssa Hanson also shot a 110 (+38) and placed 18th. Kennedy Halling placed 20th and shot a 111 (+39).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 7th with a team score of 455 (+167), as their top scorer was senior Sawyer Morrical, who placed 12th an shot a 106 (+34), while Sophia McLaughlin placed 14th and shot a 108 (+36). Sydney Frisleben would shoot a 118 (+46) and Claire Kirstein shot a 123 (+51) to round out varsity scoring.
Webster City returns to action on Friday when they compete at the Fort Dodge Invitational at Fort Dodge Country Club. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows returns to action on Friday when they host their Class 2A Regional Golf Tournament at Clarmond Country Club.
