The Webster City Lynx soccer teams returned to action on Thursday evening, as they hosted the Wright County Broncos in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field at Webster City High School.
Webster City’s girls would start off the night as they punched in a goal in the first half, but nothing more as they held a 1-0 halftime lead. The Lynx would find more offense in the 2nd half as they tallied 3 goals in the 2nd half to take in a 4-0 win. Senior Jillian Symens would have 2 goals on the night, as well as 2 assists. Other goal scorers for the Lynx were junior Mia Hansen and freshman Sandra Fuentes-Cruz.
The Lynx boys followed, looking to continue their undefeated season, and got off to a solid start in the first half, leading 2-0 at the halftime break. Webster City kept their foot on the gas in the 2nd half, tacking on 3 more goals to take home a 5-0 win and improve to 11-0 on the year. Senior Eduardo Perez would score 2 goals in the win, with goals also coming from juniors Conner Peck and Francisco Carmona, as well as senior Cristian Banda Bermudez.
Webster City soccer returns to action on Monday, when the boys travel to Iowa Falls to take on the Cadets, while the girls host IF-A at Lynx Field.
