The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks girls golf teams returned to action on Wednesday morning, as they made the trip into Marshall County to compete in the annual Heart of Iowa Conference Tournament at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center.
After coming up short in 2023, Roland-Story would claim the Heart of Iowa Conference title with a team score of 337 (+49), 8 strokes ahead of runner-up and defending champion Nevada, who shot a 345 (+57). Sophomore Brinley Carlson placed 2nd with a score of 81 (+9), while junior Brooke Thompson placed 3rd with a score of 82 (+10). Makenna Carlson would place 4th with a score of an 84 (+12), and Grace Corcoran rounded out the lineup by tying for 9th with a score of 90 (+18).
South Hamilton would place 6th with a score of 426 (+138), as their top scorer was senior Rebekah Carlson, who tied for 9th with a score of 90 (+18). Senior Abby Adamski tied for 15th with a score of 97 (+25), while sophomore Arynn Luppes shot a 113, and freshman Hailey Johnson rounded out the scoring with a 126.
South Hamilton and Roland-Story return to action on Friday, when South Hamilton hosts their home tournament at Jewell Golf and Country Club.
