The Webster City Lynx and Eagle Grove Eagles girls track teams returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip east into Hardin County to compete in the annual Iowa Falls-Alden Cadet Relays at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. The Lynx and Eagles were joined by the host Cadets, as well as Bishop Garrigan, Grundy Center and St. Edmond.
Webster City would take 2nd in the meet with 125 points, while picking up a handful of wins on the night. The Lynx would win the 4×100 in a season-best time of 53.25 seconds with the team of Tesdahl-Gallentine-Weinschenk-Savitski, followed up with a win in the 4×200 in a time of 1:55.20 with the team of Tesdahl-Gallentine-Weinschenk-Savitski. Webster City would also win the sprint medley in a time of 1:57.62 with the team of Tesdahl-Weinschenk-Savitski-Grossoehme. Other notable results saw Cloe Savitski place 3rd in the 100m Dash in 13.00 seconds, as Adysen Poppen placed 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 34′ 11″. Avery Poppen would place 2nd in the discus with a throw of 104′ 5″.
Eagle Grove would not see an event winner on Monday, but still put together solid performances. The Eagles 4×100 was 2nd in a time of 53.57 with the team of Jeske-Figueroa-Morgan-Feske, while the 4×200 was also 2nd in a time of 1:55.40 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Figueroa-Feske. Senior Ayden Feske would place 2nd in the 100m Dash in a season-best time of 12.97 seconds, while Addy Jeske would place 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 16′ 2.25″.
Webster City girls return to action on Thursday when they compete in the North Central Conference meet at Hampton. Eagle Grove returns to action on Thursday when they compete at the Top of Iowa West Conference Meet at Belmond-Klemme.
