The South Hamilton Hawks and Roland-Story Norsemen track teams returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into Polk County to compete in the North Polk Co-Ed Invite at North Polk High School in Alleman. The Hawks and Norsemen were joined by the host Comets, as well as Bondurant-Farrar, Greene County, Johnston, Nevada and PCM.
South Hamilton would see a handful of winners on Monday, first coming in the boys sprint medley with a time of 1:34.93 with the team of Severseike-Gunderson-Hodnefield-Koehnk. This was followed up with a win in the boys distance medley, in a season-best time of 3:43.28 with the team of Severseike-Drake-Ricke-Coburn. The Hawks girls 4×200 would be next into the win column, in a season-best time of 1:49.92 with the team of Galetich-Doolittle-Erickson-Thompson. Senior Ty Koehnk, as he took home a win in the 400m dash in a time of 50.03 seconds, before the girls 4×400 won in a time of 4:19.90 with the team of Doolittle-Thompson-Galetich-Erickson.
Roland-Story would come out with an number of winners on Monday as well, the first coming in the girls sprint medley in a time of 1:53.25 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Lande-Kilstofte. That was immediately followed up with a win in the 3000m Run by junior Claire Truesdell, in a time of 11:56.26, and an Evan Voga win in the 3200m Run in a time of 10:41.87. Kam Lande would go on to win the 100m Dash in a time of 12.64, before Selah Helgeson picked up the final win of the night in the 100 hurdles in a time of 16.82.
South Hamilton and Roland-Story track teams return to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Heart of Iowa Conference meet at South Hamilton High School in Jewell.
