The Webster City Lynx boys golf team returned to action on Friday afternoon, as they made the trip into Franklin County to compete in a North Central Conference tri at Hampton Country Club in Hampton. The Lynx were joined by hosts Hampton-Dumont-CAL as well as Clarion-Goldfield-Dows.
Webster City would win the tri meet with a team score of 179 (+35). Braylon Plain would finish 2nd individually with a score of 42 (+6), while Trevyn Lyons tied for 3rd with a score of 45 (+9). Braden Doering was tied for 5th with a 46 (+10), as he matched teammate Luke Firsching with a 46 (+10) to round out the scoring. Cael Nixon would shoot a 47 (+11) and Dawson Bertran shot a 49 (+13) to finish the varsity lineup.
The Lynx would follow that up with a trip to Lake Panorama National Golf Course on Saturday, to compete in a tournament with Panorama, as well as ACGC, Audubon, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Interstate 35, Knoxville, Montezuma and West Central Valley.
Webster City placed 2nd with a team score of 329 (+41), as Panorama won with a 321 (+33). Cael Nixon was the top Lynx golfer, placing 4th and shooting an 80 (+8), as Braden Doering placed 7th with an 82 (+10). Luke Firsching placed 8th with an 83 (+11), as Braylon Plain rounded out scoring with an 84 (+12) tying for 9th. Trevyn Lyons would shoot an 87 (+15), while Dawson Bertran would shoot a 96 (+24) to round out the varsity lineup.
Webster City returns to action on Friday, when they host St. Edmond at Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City.
