The Roland-Story Norsemen girls track team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Girls Norsemen Relays at Dallas Kray Track in Story City. The Norsemen were joined by Aplington-Parkersburg, Bondurant-Farrar, Lake Mills, Madrid, Nevada, North Polk, Pleasantville, South Hamilton (partial) and West Marshall.
Roland-Story was the team champion on the night, and started their meet with a win in the sprint medley, in a time of 1:54.67 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Kilstofte-Lande. This was immediately followed up with a win in the 3000m run from junior Claire Truesdell, in a time of 11:35.05. Selah Helgeson would win the 100m Hurdles in a time of 16.73, before the Norsemen won the 4×200 in a time of 1:48.61 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Kilstofte-Lande. Roland-Story capped the night with a win in the 4×400 in a time of 4:25.64 with the team of Kilstofte-Motta-Petersen-Lande. Other notable results saw Adalyn Sporleder place 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 16′ 3.5″, while Kam Lande placed 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 26.48. Maddi Lucas would place 2nd in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:15.38, while the distance medley placed 2nd in a time of 4:54.20 with the team of Reitano-Willis-Motta-Johnson.
South Hamilton would send their 4×100 team to try and better their time for Drake Relays qualifying, and the Hawks won the race in a time of 52.37 with the team of Flaugh-Galetich-Erickson-Thompson.
Roland-Story returns to action on Monday, when they compete at the Saydel Girls Invitational at Saydel High School. South Hamilton returns to action on Tuesday, when they host the George Abell Relays at Bill Taylor Field in Jewell.
