Roland-Story, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track competes in Hampton-Dumont-CAL Invite

The Roland-Story Norsemen and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track teams returned to action on Monday night, as they competed in the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Invite at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. The Norsemen and Cowboys were joined by the host Bulldogs, as well as Aplington-Parkersburg, Belmond-Klemme, Clear Lake, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and South Hardin.

Roland-Story would wind up with a handful of 2nd place finishes on Monday, the first coming from the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:04.65 with the team of Crank-Berggren-Barber-Strum. Jayden Strum would follow that with a 2nd place finish in the 110m High Hurdles in a season-best time of 16.15 seconds. The final runner-up finish came in the 1600m run from junior Evan Voga, who placed 2nd in a personal-best time of 4:53.97. Voga would also place 2nd in the 3200m run in a time of 11:02.26.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows saw one event winner in the discus, courtesy of senior Mason Allen. Allen won the event with a throw of 145′ even.

Roland-Story would place 5th with 99 points, while Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was 8th with 16 points. Clear Lake was the team champion with 139 points.
