The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Thursday evening, as they made the trip east on Highway 20 to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden at Cadet Field in Iowa Falls.
IF-A would strike first with a goal in the 18th minute to put the Cadets up 1-0. That lead would last most of the first half, before the Cadets tacked on another goal in the 35th minute put the Cadets ahead 2-0. Webster City would steal a goal before halftime off a free kick to put cut the halftime score to 2-1.
The second half kept the game at a 2-1 margin for most of the game, however Webster City’s aggressiveness to tie the game ultimately went against them as Iowa Falls-Alden scored 2 goals in the waning minutes of the match to clinch a 4-1 victory.
Webster City dropped to 3-2 with the loss, as the Lynx return to action on Monday, when they host Humboldt at Webster City High School at 5:30 PM.
