The Roland-Story Norsemen girls track team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, as they made the trek south into Boone County to compete in the Madrid Invitational at Madrid High School. The Norsemen were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Boone, Central Decatur, East Marshall, North Polk, Ogden and Twin Cedars.
Roland-Story would pick up a number of wins on Tuesday night, the first coming in the sprint medley, winning in a time of 1:53.49 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Kilstofte-Lande. This was followed up by a Kam Lande win in the 100m dash in a time of 13.04 seconds. The Norsemen’s 4×200 would follow up with a dominant win, finishing in a time of 1:48.25 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Kilstofte-Lande, setting a new meet record. Roland-Story’s final win came in the 4×400, with the Norsemen winning in a time of 4:18.93 with the team of Kilstofte-Motta-Petersen-Lande, also setting a new meet record.
Other notable finishes for the Norsemen included Adalyn Sporleder placing 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 16′ 11″. Claire Truesdell would also get 2nd in the 3000m run in a time of 11:43.63, while Truesdell also placed 2nd in the 1500m run in a time of 5:36.99. The Norsemen’s distance medley was 2nd in 5:02.80 with the team of Reitano-Willis-Motta-E. Truesdell, while Kennedy Petersen also picked up a 2nd place medal, as she finished runner-up in the 200m dash in a time of 27.74 seconds.

Roland-Story placed 2nd in the meet with 128 points, as North Polk was the team champion with 132 points. Roland-Story girls return to action on Thursday, when they compete in the East Marshall Girls Invite in LeGrand.
