The Webster City Lynx soccer teams returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into northeast Wright County to take on Wright County United in North Central Conference action at Belmond-Klemme High School.
It would be a balanced effort for the Lynx girls on Monday, as Webster City wasted little time in building a substantial lead over the Broncos as the purple and gold led 4-0 at the halftime break. Webster City would add a pair more goals before coasting to a convincing 6-0 victory. Jillian Symens and Janey Putney each scored 2 goals on the night, while junior Mia Hansen and freshman Sandra Fuentes-Cruz each added goals of their own as Webster City improved to 3-1.
Webster City’s boys looked to continue their dominant start and did so by mauling the Broncos in the first half scoring goals in the 3rd, 8th, 11th, 18th and 27th minutes to lead 5-0 at halftime. Webster City would slow things down in the second half, but still added 3 more goals in the 47th, 49th and 56th minutes to cap off a dominant 8-0 victory.
Eddy Fuentes would have a career night with 5 goals, while Wilmer Padilla Chavez finished with 4 assists on the night. The Lynx also saw goals from Conner Peck, David Villelas and Israel Torres as Webster City improves to 4-0.
