The Webster City Lynx and Roland-Story Norsemen track teams returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into Webster County to compete in the annual Southeast Valley Boys Invitational at the Southeast Valley Track Complex in Gowrie. The Lynx and Norsemen were joined by the host Jaguars, as well as Gilbert, Glidden-Ralston, GTRA, Madrid, Manson-Northwest Webster, Ogden, Paton-Churdan, Pocahontas Area and West Bend-Mallard.
Webster City would pick up 2 wins, the first courtesy of Jayden Weinzetl, who won the 100m Dash in a time of 11.58 seconds, Weinzetl would also place 2nd in the 200m Dash in a time of 23.82 seconds. The Lynx would then win the distance medley in a time of 3:49.47 with the team of Hrnicek-Hisler-Estlund-Callahan. Webster City would place 2nd in the 4×100 in a time of 44.94 with the team of Griffith-Hisler-Hrincek-Weinzetl. Justin Callahan would also place 3rd in the 400m Hurdles in a time of 58.90.
Roland-Story would pick up a handful of wins on Tuesday, the first coming in the sprint medley, as the Norsemen won in a time of 1:39.51 with the team of Carlson-Berggren-J. Knoll-McIlrath. Roland-Story followed this up with a win in the shuttle hurdle relay, with a season-best mark of 1:04.54 with the team of Crank-Berggren-Barber-Strum. The final win for the Norsemen came in the 4×100, as the quartet of Carlson-McIlrath-Berggren-J. Knoll set a season-best time with a mark of 44.78 seconds. The Norsemen would get a 2nd place finish in the 4×200 with a time of 1:38.01 with the team of Spainhower-Crabbs-Thoreson-Mzayck. Fiston Carlson would finish 3rd in the 100m Dash in a time of 11.91 as well.
Roland-Story would place 2nd in the meet with 85 points, while Webster City was 5th with 58 points. Madrid was the team champion with 182 points.
Webster City and Roland-Story return to action on Thursday, when both travel to Des Moines to compete in the Saydel Invitational at Saydel High School.
