Webster City girls tennis shutout by St. Edmond, 9-0

The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team returned to action on Thursday, as they welcomed in their North Central Conference rivals in the Gaels of Fort Dodge, St. Edmond to Webster City High School.

St. Edmond set the tone from the start with Lauren Gibb shutting out Allie Severe in the position 1 match 10-0. Payton Bradley would defeat Cyra Christensen 10-2, Ava Andrew defeated Perla Torres 10-2, and Cambree Lunn beat Gabbie Sebert 10-1. The last two singles matches would be closer but Alivia Burns would lose 10-6 to Ava Underberg, and Hailey Brim fell to Abby Huss 10-6.

In the doubles, the duo of Lauren Gibb and Payton Bradley defeated Allie Severe and Cyra Christensen 10-3, before Ava Andrew and Cambree Lunn took down Alivia Burns and Hailey Brim 10-5. Ava Underberg and Chloe Palmer capped off the doubles with a 10-7 win over Perla Torres and Gabbie Sebert to clinch a 9-0 win for the Gaels.

Webster City returns to action on Monday, when they host North Polk at Webster City High School.
