The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls track teams made the trip to Clear Lake on Thursday evening, to compete in the annual North Iowa Indoor Championships at the Clear Lake Health and Wellness Center at Clear Lake High School. The Lynx and Cowgirls were joined by the host Lions, as well as Algona, Central Springs, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Iowa Falls-Alden, Lake Mills, Nevada, and Saint Ansgar.
CGD would place 8th in the meet with 21 points, which saw Mikayla Beisel win the girls high jump with a mark of 5′ 2″ in a jump off. Beisel would place 3rd in the 60 meter hurdles in 10.23, while placing 4th in the 400 meter dash in 1:06.98 to round out the Cowgirls scoring. Addy Howell would place 10th in the 200 meter dash in 30.39, while Kennedy Jackson placed 15th in 30.97, Jackson also placed 13th in the long jump with a mark of 14′ 3″. Harley Charlson would place 12th in 1500 meter run in 6:10.66.
Webster City would place 9th with 20 points, as the top placers were freshman Amanda Lahr in the shotput, placing 5th with a throw of 32′ 11″. Cloe Savitski would place 5th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.35 seconds as well. Jakaela Cherry would place 6th in the shot put with a throw of 32′ 10.5″, while Adysen Poppen was 9th with a toss of 31′ 10″. The shuttle hurdle relay tea, of Roberts-Nohrenberg-Vankham-Feltz would place 6th in 46.54, while the 4×400 team of Grossoehmen-Chamness-VanDeer-Reed placed 7th in 4:47.88. The 4×800 team of Grossoehme-Chamness-VanDeer-Oswald placed 7th in 12:16.85, while the 4×200 team of Savitski-Weinshenk-Gallentine-Wright placed 8th in 1:57.58.
