The South Hamilton Hawks wrestling team returned to action on Saturday morning, as they made the trip into Palo Alto County to compete in the annual Lynn Moody Invitational at Pocahontas Area High School. The Hawks were joined by the host Indians, as well as Alta-Aurelia, GTRA, Humboldt, Sioux Central, West Bend-Mallard and Woodbury Central.
The Hawks picked up three, 2nd place finishes on Saturday, with Braden Young at 150 lbs, as he fell to Pocahontas Area’s William Lawson via pin in the 3rd period. Keyton Remsburg would place 2nd at 157 lbs, losing a 1-0 decision to Woodbury Central’s Jackson Verschoor in the title match. Adley Peters would then place 2nd at 175, losing via pin to Carter Wright of Woodbury Central.
Jonathan O’Neal would place 3rd at 165 lbs, pinning Sioux Central’s Spencer Forbes, while Holden Klein placed 5th at 126, winning a 11-5 decision over Alta-Aurelia’s Cole Gustafson, while Jaxon Watson also placed 5th at 144 lbs. Graham Peters would finish 6th at 190 lbs, but medically forfeited out of his final two matches. South Hamilton placed 6th in the tournament with 92 points.
South Hamilton wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in a quad dual with Eagle Grove, Alta-Aurelia and South Central Calhoun at 10 AM.
