The Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted a Top of Iowa West quad dual at Eagle Grove Elementary School. The Eagles were joined by Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, North Union and West Hancock.
Eagle Grove’s lone win on the night came against North Union by a score of 45-30, which saw Eagle Grove pick up falls from Mack Morgan (126), Cooper Thacker (132), Connor Christopher (144), Christofer Duarte (150) and Jayden Krietlow (175), with Jesus Baze (285) winning a 3-2 sudden victory, and Jackson Babcock (120) and Reece Demuth (165) winning via forfeit.
The Eagles would lose a 40-36 match to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, which saw the Eagles pick up wins via fall from Jackson Babcock (120), Connor Christopher (144) and Jesus Baez, while Mack Morgan (126), Cooper Thacker (132) and Felix Gonzalez (138) picked up wins via forfeit.
Eagle Grove would then fall to West Hancock by a score of 65-12, which saw Jackson Babcock (120) and Reece Demuth (165) as the only Eagles to pick up wins in the match.
Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Gary Christensen Invitational at Winterset High School.
