Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball swept by Clear Lake

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at CGD High School in Clarion. The Cowgirls entered with a record of 0-4, while the Cowboys entered at 1-2.

The Cowgirls would run into a tall task against the 10th-ranked Lions, as Clear Lake used a fast start to coast to a 67-32 win. Madi Ott led the Lions with 17 points, while Xada Johnson had 13 points. CGD stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning.

CGD’s boys would suffer a similar fate as their female counterparts, as a lightning fast Clear Lake start and smothering Lions defense led to a 69-33 win for the #4 team in Class 3A. Carson Nesheim led CGD with 13 points, while Cael Stephany had a game-high 18 points for Clear Lake.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball returns to action on Friday night, when they travel to Webster City to take on the Lynx at Webster City High School.
