The Roland-Story Norsemen basketball teams returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School in Story City. The Norsemen girls entered at 4-0, while the Norsemen boys entered at 5-0.
The girls game would be yet another dominant win for the (3A) #12 Norsemen, as they led 26-4 after the first quarter, which was ballooned out to 46-16 at halftime. The Norsemen kept up the pressure in the 3rd quarter, leading 69-22 going into the 4th before riding out a 74-23 win. Matilde Motta led the Norsemen with a game-high 14 points, while Claire Truesdell had 13 points, Emma Shipley had a team-high 11 points for Greene County.
Roland-Story’s boys followed up with an equally dominating performance against the Greene County boys, leading the Rams 19-4 after the first quarter, which then ballooned to a 41-6 halftime advantage. Reserves got much of the run in the 2nd half as Roland-Story took home a 61-28 win. Boaz Clark was the game-high scorer with 18 points, while Jonovan Wilkinson had just 10 points, but 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Nathan Behne had a team-high 10 points for Greene County.
Roland-Story returns to action on Tuesday night, as they host the Saydel Eagles in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School.
