Webster City cross country competes in Class 3A State Qualifying Meet in Spencer

The Webster City Lynx cross country teams made the long drive into northwest Iowa on Wednesday afternoon, to compete in their Class 3A State Qualifying Meet at Spencer Municipal Golf Course in Spencer. The Lynx were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Algona, Bishop Heelan, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, Denison-Schleswig, Gilbert, Humboldt, LeMars, MOC-Floyd Valley, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Sioux Center and Storm Lake.

The Webster City boys would place 11th in the meet with 277 points, as Justin Callahan was the Lynx top placer in 27th in a time of 17:54.53. Jack Barner would place 44th in 18:41.37, Aiden Rahe was 45th in 18:43.37, Kyzer Zinnel was 77th in 20:33.82, while Owen Patterson rounded scoring out in 84th in 21:22.58.

The Webster City girls would not place as a team in the meet, as Izzy Grossoehme was the top placer for the Lynx in 38th in 22:01.28, while Karina Murray was 79th in 25:19.95. Rosemary Chamness was 80th in 25:34.27, while Lydia VanDeer rounded the lineup out in 84th in 26:06.53.
