South Hamilton volleyball season ends against Ogden, 3-1

The South Hamilton Hawks volleyball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the Ogden Bulldogs in Class 2A, Region 4 action at South Hamilton High School in Jewell. The Hawks entered at 12-19, while Ogden entered at 9-16 out of the West Central Activities Conference.

South Hamilton would pounce on Ogden mistakes to open the first set, leading by as much as 7 at the halfway point, before Ogden stormed back to steal the opening set 25-21. The Hawks would battle back to take the 2nd set in convincing fashion with a 25-19 win, before a war of a third set would ultimately go to Ogden in extra rally’s 26-24. Ogden would control most of the 4th set, but the Hawks would not go easily, but ultimately fell in the 4th set 25-22 and lost the match 3-1.

The Player of the Game sponsored by Jewell Market, was South Hamilton freshman Tessa Skartvedt, who had 17 kills and 7 aces on the night for the Hawks.

Ogden moves on to face (2A) #1 Dike-New Hartford on Monday night. South Hamilton’s season ends at 12-20.
