The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team made the trip south into Dallas County on Saturday, to compete in the Woodward-Granger Tournament at Woodward-Granger High School on Woodward. The Norsemen were joined by the host Hawks, as well as AC/GC, Boone, Colfax-Mingo, Grand View Christian, Panorama and West Central Valley.
Roland-Story opened their day with a 2-0 sweep over West Central Valley (21-5, 21-13), before sweeping another Guthrie County school in AC/GC 2-0 (21-18, 21-13). The Norsemen then completed the Guthrie County trifecta with a win over Panorama 2-0 (21-11, 21-10) before sweeping the host Hawks 2-0 (21-15, 21-15). Roland-Story ended their day with a win over Boone 2-0 (21-19, 28-26) to claim the tournament title.
It was a big day for senior setter Ali Charlson, who recorded her 1,000th career assist and 500tj career dig in the tournament.
Roland-Story concludes the regular season 24-11 and will host Independence in their Class 3A, Region 5 First Round match on Tuesday night at 7 PM.
