The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks volleyball teams renewed their rivalry on Thursday night at Roland-Story High School in Story City in Heart of Iowa Conference action. South Hamilton entered at 12-18 and 2-4 in the conference, while Roland-Story entered at 18-11 and 5-1 in the conference.
The match would be a battle for all 3 sets, with Roland-Story holding off South Hamilton 25-18 in the opening set. The Norsemen would pick up a convincing win in the 2nd set by a score of 25-14, but South Hamilton would not go quietly, giving the Norsemen another battle in Set 3, but ultimately falling 25-19 as Roland-Story picked up the 3-0 sweep.
Kamryn Lande would have a monster match for the Norsemen with a team-high 15 kills, 3 blocks and an ace, while Brookelyn Jondle had 10 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces. South Hamilton’s stats have not yet been entered in bound.
Roland-Story returns to action on Saturday when they compete at the Woodward-Granger tournament, while South Hamilton opens postseason action on Wednesday, when they host Ogden in Class 2A, District 4.
