Webster City cross country competes in NCC Meet in Fort Dodge

The Webster City Lynx cross country teams made the short trip west on Highway 20 on Tuesday evening, to compete in the annual North Central Conference meet at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge, hosted by Fort Dodge, St. Edmond.

In the girls meet, Webster City placed 7th with 178 points, as freshman Izzy Grossoehme was the top runner, placing 12th in 21:26.09. Rosemary Chamness was 40th in 25:39.41, Karina Murray was 41st in 25:40.39, Lydian VanDeer was 42nd in 25:41.94, while Sydney Oswald bookended the line up in 43rd in 25:57.84.

Webster City’s boys would place 4th in their meet with 111 points, getting a huge race from Justin Callahan, who placed 3rd in 17:43.17. Aiden Rahe would place 16th in 18:46.01, Jack Barner was 17th in 18:46.64, Kyzer Zinnel was 36th in 20:54.10, while Owen Patterson rounded out scoring in 39th in 21:07.68

Webster City returns to action next Wednesday, when they compete in their Class 3A State Qualifying Meet at Spencer.
