
The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip into Hancock County to take on the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in non-conference volleyball action at GHV High School in Garner. The Cowgirls entered at 12-16, while the Cardinals entered at 19-8.
CGD came out of the gates swinging, fending off the Cardinals in the opening set for a 26-24 win. GHV responded with a convincing win in set 2 by a score of 25-16, before outlasting CGD in set 3 25-21 to take a 2-1 lead. The Cowgirls would come storming back, taking the 4th set 25-19, before holding off the Cardinals in the winner-take-all 5th set by a score of 15-11 to take home a 3-2 win.
Stats were not posted on Bound at the time of release, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows returns to action on Thursday when they host Webster City in North Central Conference action and the Cowgirls regular season finale.
