The Webster City Lynx, BK-CGD and Eagle Grove Eagles cross country teams competed in the annual Eagle Grove Invitational at the Eagle Grove Golf Course. The Lynx, Broncos and Eagles were joined by Algona, Bishop Garrigan, Central Springs, Emmetsburg, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, GTRA, Humboldt, North Iowa, South Hardin and West Fork.
Webster City’s girls would place 7th with 145 points, as Izzy Grossoehme scored 9th in a time of 22:56.44. Rosemary Chamness scored 28th in 25:30.20, Karina Murray was 33rd in 26:24.73, Lydia VanDeer was 36th in 26:47.19, while Sydney Oswald was 39th to round out the scoring. Webster City’s boys placed 8th with 186 points, as Justin Callahan placed 5th in a time of 18:21.54, while Jack Barner was 17th in a time of 19:31.25. Owen Patterson would be 52nd in a time of 22:12.56, Kyzer Zinnel was 55th in 22:36.31, while Kaden Peterson was 57th in 22:57.11 to round out the lineup.
Eagle Grove’s girls would not compete as a team in their home meet, but Elizabeth Lopez was 59th in 28:25.39, while Alizabeth Page was 60th in 28:32.12. Eagle Grove’s boys would place 3rd with 104 points, Noah Thul was the Eagles top runner placing 10th in 18:57.44, while Zabdi Castro was 13th in 19:04.84. Felix Reyes placed 24th in 19:51.47, Hunter Waldo-Ramirez was 28th in 20:09.23 and Dylan Beck rounded out the scoring in 29th in 20:09.72.
BK-CGD would place 11th with 285 points, Tate Jackson was the top runner, placing 40th in 21:06.07, while Will Hinman placed 72nd in 23:12.70. Ethan Vestweber-Boots placed 73rd in 23:21.22, Alec Herrold was 75th in 23:27.74, while Logan Torsell rounded out the scoring in 92nd in 24:53.17.
Eagle Grove returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Jim Klein Invitational at Jewell Golf and Country Club. Webster City returns to action next Tuesday for the NCC Meet at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. BK-CGD returns to action on Monday, when they compete in the Forest City Invite at Bear Creek Golf Course.
