The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip down to Jasper County to take on the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action. The Norsemen entered with a record of 14-8 and 4-0 in the conference, while PCM entered at 16-11 and 1-4 in the conference.
Roland-Story controlled most of the first set, taking it by a decisive 25-15 margin. PCM would rally in the 2nd set to battle throughout, but it was Roland-Story that prevailed by taking it 25-21, before controlling the 3rd set the whole way through with a 25-16 win and a 3-0 sweep of the Mustangs.
It was another outstanding night for the Norsemen’s freshman duo of Miley Geise and Brookelyn Jondle. Geise had 17 assists and a kill, while Jondle had 12 kills and 3 assists. Junior Kam Lande had 7 kills and 3 blocks, as senior Grace Dowling had 7 kills on the night.
Roland-Story returns to action on Thursday night, as they host the Nevada Cubs in Heart of Iowa Conference action in Story City.
