The South Hamilton Hawks football team returned to action on Friday night, as they made the trip to Boone County to take on the Ogden Bulldogs in Class 1A, District 7 action at Ogden High School. South Hamilton entered with a record of 4-1 and 2-0 in the district, while Ogden entered at 3-2 and 1-1 in district play.
The night started off with a bang for the Hawks, as Nick Severseike got the hand off on the games opening play and took it 54 yards for a touchdown to put South Hamilton up 8-0 right away. Ogden would go 3-and-out on their first possession, but their punt backed up South Hamilton inside their own 10. Field position would not phase the Hawks, as they marched down the field and Ashton Williams punched down the field and scored a 5-yard touchdown run to put South Hamilton up 16-0. Ogden would be forced to punt on their ensuing drive going into the 2nd quarter, and once again, South Hamilton would drive nearly the length of the field and cap off the drive with a 15-yard touchdown run by Noah Gunderson to make the score 24-0 going into halftime.
Ogden got the ball to start the 2nd half, but the drive stalled shy of the 40 as the Bulldogs were forced to punt. South Hamilton once more, drove a long field and had the drive capped by a Nick Severseike 17-yard touchdown run to put the Hawks up 30-0. Ogden had the football in South Hamilton territory to start the 4th quarter, but Bulldog quarterback Colby Rohe underthrew his intended target and Braden Young made the interception. South Hamilton, for the final time on the night, drove another long field, but in shorter time as Kolby Hodnefield broke off a 63-yard touchdown run to bring the score to its final at 36-0 South Hamilton.
Nick Severseike led the Hawks with 131 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10 carries, while fellow halfback Kolby Hodnefield and 106 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries as well.
