The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action and for Cancer Awareness night at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 8-8 and 2-2 in conference play, while Clear Lake entered at 8-9 and 2-2 in conference play.
The Lynx fended off the Lions for a 25-23 set 1 win, before winning by a more comfortable margin in the 2nd set, taking that one 25-21. Clear Lake would not go down without a fight, as the Lions rallied back to take the 3rd set by a score of 25-23, before the 4th set was pushed to extra rallies, which saw Webster City come out on top 26-24, and pick up the 3-1 win.
Olivia Gallentine would have a career night, tallying 17 kills and 2 blocks in the win. Delainey Bargfrede would finish with 28 assists and 2 kills, while Ava Peterson finished with 17 assists, Addy Tesdahl finished with 9 kills, while Adysen Poppen has 7 blocks defensively.
Webster City returns to action on Saturday, when they compete at the Madrid Tournament at Madrid High School, beginning at 8 AM.
